Despite hardships and difficulties, volunteers from the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre always do their utmost to fulfill their assigned tasks.

The volunteers are second, third and fourth-year students from the universities across the city.  They are required to have good interpersonal communication skills and a proficiency in foreign languages, and they are usually offered training courses on the skills necessary for receiving and helping visitors arriving in the city.  This voluntary work will also help final-year students gain valuable work experience in preparation for seeking jobs after graduation.

The volunteers are responsible for welcoming cruise ship passengers, and for providing free tourism information for domestic and foreign visitors at the tourist support centre at 108 Bach Dang and the 2 information desks at the airport.  They are able to help visitors to access information about local tourist attractions, entertainment areas, restaurants, accommodation and transport services.  Thanks to the volunteers’ friendly attitude, the visitors receive a warm welcome and feel really comfortable during their stay in the city.

During the main tourist season, between 15 and 18 volunteers usually take turns being on duty at the tourist support centre and the airport’s information desks.  They are considered to be enthusiastic and friendly tourism ambassadors for Da Nang.
