The Quan The Am (Avalokitecvara) festival will run from 17 - 19 March (the 17th - 19th days of the 2nd lunar month) at Ngu Hanh Son District's Quan The Am (Avalokitecvara) Pagoda in the Marble Mountains Tourist Area, and at other locations along Ngu Hanh Son District’s Su Van Hanh and Le Van Hien Street.

The festival will feature a number of solemn Buddhist traditional rituals.  They include the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Statue procession, which will be held at the Quan The Am (Avalokitecvara) Pagoda at 7am on 19 March, and a solemn ritual to pray for peace and safety throughout the year at 6pm on 17 March.

Also at this pagoda, a prayer ceremony of Theravada Buddhists will be held at 7am on 18 March, whilst a blessing ceremony on the meaning of Buddhist relics will be opened at 2pm on 18 March.  Most notably, these two ceremonies will be attended by some enlightened monks from Thailand.

During the 3-day event, there are also various exciting activities such as the floating of flower garlands and coloured lanterns, traditional boat-racing, a calligraphy exhibition, “bai choi” (singing while acting as playing cards), a tug-of-war competition, and martial arts performances.
